Taylor Swift did not have a “mini-meltdown” when she saw Jake Gyllenhaal at a Golden Globes after-party, despite a webloid’s new claim. Gossip Cop looked into the report and not only is it entirely untrue, but the two exes were extremely cordial when they bumped into each other at the Chateau Marmont, where hosts Tina Fey and Amy Poehler threw a post-awards show bash.

According to HollywoodLife, Swift “panicked” when she spotted her ex-boyfriend a few feet away at the party. The site says Swift tried her best to “avoid” Gyllenhaal, who was dancing with a number of different women, including Rita Ora and Malin Akerman, but at a certain point, the singer “freaked out” and told her friends, “We have to go.”

The webloid’s account is all very dramatic and wrong. In fact, multiple sources confirm to Gossip Cop that Swift pretty much arrived at the party as Gyllenhaal was making his way out of the bash. And as opposed to HollywoodLies, er, HollywoodLife’s account of Swift having a meltdown and being “freaked out,” we’re told they two talked for a little bit and even hugged. “They looked genuinely happy to see each other, smiling and everything,” one eyewitness to Gossip Cop.

Of course, HollywoodLife has a rich history of making up stories about Swift. The webloid falsely alleged that she got breast implants, manufactured a fictitious feud with her friend Selena Gomez, and recently embarrassed itself more (if possible) by claiming that she and Harry Styles were again “secretly dating for months.” Sadly, no one at HollywoodLife seems to get “freaked out” by how inaccurate the site is with its reporting on Taylor Swift.
