Jennifer Aniston feels it is “time people stop with that petty BS” pitting her against Angelina Jolie. The tabloids have continued on a weekly basis to try to manufacture a feud between the two women, but as Gossip Cop has repeatedly reported, there has been no animosity for some time now. Sadly, earlier on Friday, parody-like site HollywoodLife claimed Jolie and Aniston had a “tense moment” and a “staredown” the night before at the Critics’ Choice Movies Awards. Of course that story, like many others tales about Aniston and Jolie, was a complete lie.
Now, Aniston is not only speaking out about how “tiresome and old” the reported rivalry stories are, but she’s also praising Jolie for her work on Unbroken. Aniston spoke to “Entertainment Tonight” on Friday and said of the fake catfighting claims, “I think that’s slowly coming to an end. I really do.” She added, “I mean, that movie is so beautiful and wonderful and she did such a gorgeous job. I think that it’s time people stop with that petty BS and just start celebrating great work and stop with the petty kind of silliness.”
Aniston further expressed that all the talk of the women warring, “It’s just tiresome and old,” with the comparison, “It’s like an old leather shoe. Let’s buy a new pair of shiny shoes.” Just a week and a half ago, the actress told “CBS This Morning,” “I don’t find it painful” to discuss her split from Brad Pitt a decade ago. She said that these days it’s “more of a media-driven topic” and that all the people involved have moved on. And indeed, Aniston happily has with her fiancé Justin Theroux.
