On the eve of the political talk show's 13th season premiere, HBO has renewed Real Time With Bill Maher for two additional seasons. "HBO has provided Bill Maher with an uncensored forum since the late '80s," said HBO programming president Michael Lombardo. "This extension of our successful partnership guarantees that Bill will continue to offer his fearless insights through the next presidential election season, when his irreverent wit is sure to be needed more than ever."

Joked Maher: "Luckily for me, American politicians never give it a rest, so every season is an election season."

Known for his provocative humor and political satire, Maher is a strong draw for the network on Friday nights, regularly pulling in 1 million viewers — and 4 million over the course of the week. The premium network's late-night brand was further strengthened last year by the addition of John Oliver.

Maher serves as executive producer alongside Scott Carter, Sheila Griffiths, Marc Gurvitz, Brad Grey, Billy Martin and Dean E. Johnsen. Matt Wood produces and Paul Casey directs.
