Chris Brown and Karrueche Tran are not rushing to get married before March, despite yet another story HollywoodLife flat out made up. The webloid noticed that a judge revoked Brown’s probation on Thursday, and decided to invent a story about how he is “so freaked out that he may go to prison for four years, he’s this close to… getting down on his knee to propose.” It’s 100 percent false.

Mind you, it’s absolutely NOT even close to guaranteed that Brown will wind up behind bars. But that doesn’t matter to HollywoodLife. An alleged “source” tells the outlet, “Chris is thinking ahead because he doesn’t know what will happen in March. He could go to prison or he could be free. But what he does know is that he wants his girl to have full and complete access and power over all of his affairs and to make sure that legally happens. She’d have to be his wife and he’s cool with that.”

Oh, he’d be “cool” with it? So after years of on-and-off dating, Brown has decided that this is the moment to give Tran control over his affairs? Before he knows whether he’s going to jail? Something this illogical could only be written by the same people who falsely claimed Tran was pregnant with Brown’s baby last fall and then pretended it never made such an allegation. HollywoodLife also said Brown and Rihanna were engaged in 2013. HollywoodLife will say pretty much anything if it thinks someone will click on it.

Here’s HollywoodLife’s dirty little secret: The site’s strategy is to publish as many stories as possible, with an emphasis on sensational headlines, so that search engines will reward the webloid for having original content. The great thing about lies is that they can be called “original.” It doesn’t matter whether Chris Brown and Karrueche Tran actually get married. All that matters is that the headline is out there, and HollywoodLife can collect advertising revenue when people are tricked into reading it. The site has posted literally thousands of untrue stories. Someone has to hold places like HollywoodLife accountable for making up stories. That’s what Gossip Cop tries to do.

As for this report, Brown and Tran are simply NOT planning to marry immediately. A source close to Brown tells Gossip Cop exclusively that “nothing is changing” on his end as he prepares for the March court date. And a rep for Tran says, “HollywoodLife is never to be taken seriously.” We know. And we hope the people HollywoodLife dupes start to catch on, too.
