In a bid to expand viewership, Fox is making full episodes of American Idol available online for the first time.
The network announced Thursday that the season 14 premiere is now available to stream on AmericalIdol.com and Hulu.com, among others.

The aging reality series returned Wednesday to a premiere low 3.1 rating in the key adults 18-49 demo — down from its 4.7 haul a year ago (though last year's bow ran for two hours).

Full episodes of Idol will be available the morning after they air on the show's dedicated site, Hulu, FOX NOW digital devices including iPhone, iPad, Android handsets and tablets, Kindle Fire, Windows 8.1 tablets and Windows Phones, Apple TV, Roku, Xbox One, Xbox 360, Samsung Smart TVs and Blu-ray Players. Major TV providers supporting authenticated full-episode streaming on FOX NOW and AmericanIdol.com include AT&T U-verse, Bright House Networks, Cablevision, Charter, Comcast XFINITY, Cox, DIRECTV, Dish, Mediacom, Suddenlink, Time Warner Cable and Verizon FiOS.
Idol airs Wednesdays and Thursdays at 8 p.m. on Fox.
