Reese Witherspoon joined Jimmy Fallon for an amusing game of “Random Phrase Carols” on Tuesday’s “Tonight Show.” As with many Fallon games, the rules are right there in the title. The host and Witherspoon took turns singing random phrases to the tune of classic Christmas carols.

Fallon, for instance, entertained the audience with a rendition of “Jingle Bells” that was actually a song about sniffing a “small old man named Tom.” Witherspoon then took a shot at “Silent Night,” with lyrics about a “slimy toad.” But she screwed it up, and accidentally started singing in the “Jingle Bells” tune. Fortunately, she got another chance.

It seems like the “Tonight Show” is going to be your headquarters for funny songs this holiday season. Last week, Fallon and Rashida Jones performed Christmas-themed parodies of the year’s biggest pop hits from artists like Ariana Grande, Sam Smith and Nicki Minaj.

Of course, Fallon is also known from his “Saturday Night Live” days for his beloved original song “I Wish It Was Christmas Today.” He’s filled with seasonal spirit. Check out the video of Witherspoon and Fallon doing “Random Phrase Carols” below, and tell us what you think!
