Tyler Perry is now a dad, Gossip Cop has learned. The star and his longtime girlfriend Gelila Bekele welcomed a baby boy on Sunday named Aman Tyler Perry. This is the first child for the couple. We’re told mother and son are healthy and doing great.
And Perry couldn’t be happier. Gossip Cop, you’ll recall, was the first outlet to report that Perry and Bekele were expecting, and that the actor-director was “thrilled and over the moon.”
Becoming a father has long been a dream for Perry, who did not have a great relationship with his own dad. When Perry appeared on “The Steve Harvey Show” back in 2013, he said, “I know I would be a great father.” He added, “I don’t want to work this hard. I don’t want to have all of this and not leave it to my children.”
We’re told the proud parents, who already have everything they could have ever wanted in life — and now more with little Aman — have asked friends and family members to not send baby gifts, but instead donate to Charity Water, the organization that strives to provide clean water in underdeveloped nations.
