The first trailer for The Longest Ride has premiered. The upcoming romance film is the latest movie to be adapted from a Nicholas Sparks novel. Check out the preview below!
The Longest Ride stars Scott Eastwood as a professional bull rider and Britt Robertson as an art lover who embark on a romance that’s tested by their careers and the influence of an elderly man they rescue from a devastating car accident. Played by Alan Alda, the film uses his decades-old love story with his late wife, as told in flashbacks with Jack Huston, to shed light on the younger couple’s relationship.
Fans of Sparks’ book, which was released last year, will immediately notice some plot differences. In the novel, the two couple’s stories play out side-by-side, with their paths not crossing until well into the story. The film trailer, however, reveals that’s no longer a twist, as everyone gets intertwined rather early on.
The movie is slated to open on April 10. And it may not be Sparks’ only book-to-film adaptation to hit theaters next year. The Choice, based on his 2007 book of the same name, recently wrapped production. Check out The Longest Ride trailer below, and tell us what you think!
