There’s NOT a major “new fight” between Katie Holmes and Tom Cruise over their daughter Suri Cruise, despite a new tabloid report. Gossip Cop can bust the In Touch cover story, which claims the former couple has descended into a “custody nightmare.”
According to the magazine, Holmes is “concerned and upset” about her ex-husband’s plans to return to the United States from overseas, where he’s spent much of the past year shooting movies. In Touch explains that Holmes’ “worst-case scenario” is that “Tom’s return after a prolonged absence will spark a fight over their daughter.” Wait, what?
“Katie’s been trying to give Suri a different type of life since she and Tom divorced,” explains a source for the outlet, adding that Holmes will “put up a fight” if, as In Touch puts it, “she feels Tom oversteps the boundaries she’s comfortable with concerning Suri.” The magazine then talks about how Holmes allegedly worries about her ex spoiling Suri, and how their parenting styles differ.
Wait… so this entire cover story about the “new fight” over Suri is based on the fact that Tom Cruise will be spending more time in America and will be seeing his daughter more? And that there might be some kind of tension between the exes over his proximity? Did In Touch think Cruise’s film shoots abroad were permanent?
This is empty, sensationalized speculation without a shred of evidence, an approach In Touch uses often. In the past, In Touch has falsely reported that Holmes was dating Jamie Foxx. It wrongly insisted that Suri had taken sides and told Holmes she wanted to live with Cruise.
It disgustingly fabricated a health crisis for Holmes, claiming her weight “plummeted” after the divorce. It mistakenly alleged that Suri had a $100,000 tree house. For years, the magazine has gotten stories about the former couple and their daughter totally wrong. Add this one to the list. A rep for Holmes tells Gossip Cop exclusively, “The story has no merit.” Her spokesperson adds, “The magazine is obviously desperate.”
