Roseanne Barr was reunited with her TV children from “Roseanne” during an appearance on “The Talk.” The talk show’s co-host Sara Gilbert, who played Barr’s daughter Darlene Conner on the hit comedy series, surprised her TV mom for her 62nd birthday by bringing out Alicia Goranson (Becky Conner) and Michael Fishman (D.J. Conner).

“Speaking as Darlene, on behalf of Becky and D.J., I think they would want to wish you a happy birthday,” Gilbert told Barr before she introduced Goranson and Fishman to the stage. The comedian was shocked and couldn’t help but shed a tear as she hugged and kissed her former co-stars. “Oh my God. It is so great to see you guys!” she said. Goranson shared her favorite story about Barr, explaining that when she was 16, the show’s producers wouldn’t let her cut her hair. Goranson recalled her TV mom solved the problem by grabbing scissors and chopping off her some hair. “I turn around, and I see Roseanne with scissors and my hair,” she said, “and Roseanne goes, ‘There, now you have to get it cut.’”

Fishman also shared a sweet story about Barr, who he has known since he was five years old. “We’ve had a really special relationship my whole life,” he said, noting that he continued to get motherly advice from Barr even after the show ended in 1997. “When I got married and I was expecting my first child, she called me up and she took me out to lunch,” said Fishman. “She wanted to make sure that I was okay and that I was making all the right decisions.”

Laurie Metcalf, who played Roseanne’s sister Jackie Harris, wished her former co-star a happy birthday via a video chat and offered to take her out for lunch after the show. Barr also shared that her TV husband John Goodman had called her earlier in the day as well.
