This is the first year the Hollywood Film Awards are being televised, airing live on CBS as the event takes place at the Hollywood Palladium. This is the 18th installment of the awards, which were founded in 1997. According to Dick Clark Productions, the winners “are selected for their body of work and/or a film that is to be released during the calendar year.”
A number of top stars are expected to attend, including Angelina Jolie, Ben Affleck, Reese Witherspoon, Kristen Stewart, Steve Carrell, Channing Tatum, Robert Downey Jr., Robert Pattinson, Jonah Hill, Jared Leto, Jennifer Lopez, and Keira Knightley. Janelle Monae will provide the sole musical performance.
The Hollywood Film Awards will be followed in the weeks and months to come with more presentations as awards season heats up. Among others, there will be the Gotham Awards, Independent Spirit Awards, Screen Actors Guild Awards, Golden Globe Awards (also from Dick Clark Productions), Critics Choice Movie Awards, and, of course, the Academy Awards. The Hollywood Film Awards live stream will start with the red carpet pre-show at 7:30 p.m. Eastern. The ceremony will take place from 8 p.m. to 10 p.m., immediately followed by the post-show until 11 p.m. Watch here!
