Kristen Stewart did not have a “major” nip slip at the Hollywood Film Awards on Friday, despite what a bunch of outlets are trying to make everyone believe. While it’s true that Stewart’s mesh crop top revealed a little more skin than probably intended, the outcry from places like Us Weekly, E! and HollywoodLife makes it seem as though Stewart’s nipples were an immediate and obvious distraction.
That’s simply not the case. Viewers barely noticed. CBS even posted full video of Stewart’s moments on stage, when she presented an award to her Still Alice co-star Julianne Moore. There’s nothing in the clip that needs censoring. Watch the footage below. This is not exactly a Janet Jackson moment.
But places like the aforementioned webloids love nothing more than sensationalism, which is why they tried to make it seem like Stewart’s mild exposure was some kind of “embarrassing” wardrobe malfunction. Us Weekly even drags a certain second person into the story with this ridiculous headline: “Kristen Stewart Suffers Nip Sip at 2014 Hollywood Film Awards With Ex Robert Pattinson in Audience.” Um, we’re pretty sure Pattinson, just like everyone else in the audience, never noticed anything wrong with Stewart’s dress.
