Buddy Valastro, who stars on the TLC show “Cake Boss,” was arrested at around 1:30 a.m. in New York City for drunk driving, a New York Police Department spokesman confirms to Gossip Cop. We’re told he was “driving in and out of lanes” in a 2014 yellow Corvette when cops spotted him on 20th Street and 10th Avenue in the hip Chelsea section of Manhattan.
A police spokesman tells Gossip Cop that after Valastro smelled of alcohol, he was given a number of sobriety tests, which he failed. His blood-alcohol level was “well over” the legal limit. The “Cake Boss” star was then placed under arrest, handcuffed and taken to a local police station, where he was booked and is being held. Valastro is expected to be in court later on Thursday, where he will appear before a judge who will set bail.
Valastro, who also stars of the TLC spinoff show “The Next Great Baker” has baked cakes for numerous celebrities, including Oprah and Beyonce. One episode of the “Cake Boss” featured Valastro getting a cake to Mexico for the wedding of Mario Lopez and Courtney Mazza.
Among Valastro’s last messages on social media were a tweet he sent about his recently deceased aunt Anna and a photo of himself at his family’s Carlo’s Bake Shop in Marlton, New Jersey, around 85 miles away from where he was for busted for driving drunk. Gossip Cop has reached out to TLC for a comment, but has yet to hear back.
