Beyonce and Jay Z have NOT “split,” despite a new bait-and-switch tabloid cover story that Gossip Cop can exclusively bust. The rumor is from In Touch, the same outlet that falsely accused Jay Z of having an affair earlier this year and was publicly blasted by the woman the tab wrongly identified as his purported mistress.
The new cover promises to expose “the fight that changed everything” and the “other women” who allegedly “caused Beyonce to end” the couple’s marriage. The claims are all linked to a “bodyguard” who is supposedly spilling the couple’s secrets. Except the ENTIRE THING is a cheap tabloid trick.
All of the “split” drama In Touch is sensationalizing actually happened nearly a decade ago in 2006. That’s when, according to the sources being interviewed for a potential tell-all, Beyonce and Jay Z purportedly spent six months apart. At time time, he was rumored to have had a fling with his then-protégée Rihanna. That’s the relationship-altering “fight” on which In Touch bases the entire cover story. Beyonce and Jay Z got married two years later and have been together ever since, despite repeated tabloid sniping.
While we’re not exactly surprised to see In Touch stoop to such bait-and-switch nonsense, it’s still disappointing. We thought the tabloid may have actually gotten better sources since the last time it tried this. Unfortunately, that’s not the case. A source close to the situation tells Gossip Cop the Beyonce and Jay Z cover story is “ridiculous and desperate.”
