TV Ratings: ‘Once Upon a Time’ Hits Low as Football Tops World Series

Football continued to dominate on Sunday, as ABC's dramas — including Once Upon a Time — hit lows across the board.

The New Orleans Saints victory over the Green Bay Packers earned a preliminary 6.4 rating in the advertiser-coveted 18-49 demographic and 17.2 million viewers for NBC, though final numbers will likely change. A dominant showing against its competitors, the showing is down 9 percent from the previous week's 7.0 preliminary rating.

Game 5 of the World Series, which saw the San Francisco Giants take a 3-2 series lead with a 5-0 victory, improved 30 percent for Fox averaging a preliminary 3.0 rating and 11 million viewers. The next game, which could be a clincher, takes place Tuesday in Kansas City.

ABC's Sunday night lineup, however, was affected by football and baseball, slipping 14 or 15 percent to hit lows. A special presentation of Disney XD's Star Wars Rebels (2.5 million, 0.6) kicked off the evening at 7 p.m., offering a mediocre lead-in for Once Upon a Time (6.6 million, 2.3), which dropped 15 percent to hit a season low. That didn't help Resurrection (4.4 million, 1.2), which dropped to a series low, and Revenge (4.3 million, 1.1).

Over at CBS, the Pittsburgh Steelers-Indianapolis Colts game earned a preliminary 5.8 rating. 60 Minutes saw an 100-percent increase from last week, posting a 2.4. Madam Secretary and The Good Wife remained steady with a 1.5 and 1.4, respectively. CSI was pre-empted.
