“Mama” June Shannon reportedly went house hunting with her daughter Anna Cardwell’s molester Mark McDaniel in Georgia last month, and TMZ has published photos showing the reunited couple together, despite Shannon’s insistence that she hasn’t seen McDaniel since he finished a 10-year prison sentence last March.
The pictures show Shannon and McDaniel walking side-by-side, and seemingly hand-in-hand in the town of Hampton in September. One image shows McDaniel’s son with his arm around Shannon’s daughter Lauryn (known as “Pumpkin” on the show), despite Lauryn’s insistence that the family is not in touch with McDaniel.
It was TMZ’s picture of the couple on a hotel bed together, taken in June, that ultimately led TLC to cancel Shannon’s show “Here Comes Honey Boo Boo” this week.
When news first broke that Shannon was back with the convicted child molester, it was reported that he’d forced an 8-year-old relative of hers to perform oral sex on him. On Friday, TMZ identified Cardwell, now a 20-year-old married mom, as the victim, although it’s not clear whether Cardwell was the victim for which McDaniel went to prison or a different case.
Cardwell originally refused to believe that Shannon was back with her molester, but has since been convinced that the reality show matriarch is indeed seeing McDaniel. TLC is said to have offered Cardwell counseling.
After the network canceled “Here Comes Honey Boo Boo,” Shannon posted a Facebook video in which she claimed that rumors linking her to McDaniel were wrong. She said, “I would not ever put my kids in danger. I love my kids too much. That is is my past. I have not seen that person in 10 years and don’t seem to want to see that person.”
