Ghostbusters 3 is happening.
After decades of false starts and rumors, director Paul Feig has confirmed that he’s making a new installment in the hit sci-fi comedy franchise.
It will feature women in the lead roles.
On Wednesday, Feig tweeted, “It’s official. I’m making a new Ghostbusters & writing it with @katiedippold & yes, it will star hilarious women. That’s who I’m gonna call.”
Feig has directed female-centric comedies Bridesmaids and The Heat, collaborating with Katie Dippold on the latter.
No casting decisions have been announced, nor has an official release date.
The original 1984 movie, of course, starred Bill Murray, Dan Aykroyd and Harold Ramis.
