Hugh Jackman had another basal cell carcinoma removed from his nose a couple of days ago, his rep confirms to Gossip Cop. Jackman’s rep tells us the actor is “fine, feeling really well.”

This is the third time the star has been treated for skin cancer in the past twelve months. In November 2013, Jackman revealed he’d had a carcinoma excised from his nose. He had a second, similar procedure last May.

On Sunday, Jackman was photographed walking his dog in New York with a bandage on his nose, leading to speculation of yet another cancer scare. In the wake of his experience with basal cell carcinoma, the actor has urged people to get checked and use sunscreen to protect their skin.

Speaking to reporters last spring, following the second occurrence of his cancer, Jackman said, “I’m realistic about the future and it’s more than likely that I’ll have at least one more but probably many more, which is not uncommon for an Aussie particularly from English stock growing up in Australia where I don’t remember ever being told to put sunscreen on.”

“But the beauty of this is it’s all preventable, it’s just about getting proper check-ups,” added Jackman at the time. “I can be typical man, a little lazy, I couldn’t be bothered and now I’m not lazy at all.” Gossip Cop is glad he’s been staying on top of his condition, and hopes it inspires other people to get checked.
