Here Comes Honey Boo Boo Cancelled

(TLC)

Following the report that “Mama” June Shannon is dating convicted child molester Mark McDaniel, TLC announced on Friday that they have cancelled the reality TV star’s show “Here Comes Honey Boo Boo.”

Shannon took to her daughter Honey Boo Boo’s Facebook page early Friday to deny reports that she’s dating the sex offender, writing, “I want to make a post trying to clear up the rumors, remember you can’t believe everything you read! Ppl sell stories to the tabloid[s] everyday that r false!” She continued, “It isn’t true. I promise my kids r #1 priority over anything else and I would never put them in danger period over this or anything else they r my life this is my past I left him 10 yrs ago for it and I wouldn’t go back.”

Shannon was photographed hanging out with McDaniel inside a hotel room in June, right around the time her relationship to Mike “Sugar Bear” Thompson unraveled. It’s unclear when their relationship resumed, but McDaniel was released from prison in March after serving a 10-year prison sentence for forcing an 8-year-old to perform oral sex.

The “Here Comes Honey Boo” star was allegedly dating McDaniel at the time he molested the child, who is related to Shannon. McDaniel is now a registered sex offender in Georgia

According to TMZ, TLC didn’t believe Shannon’s denial and cancelled the hit show because they thought she was putting her children at risk. The network will also not air the new season of “Here Comes Honey Boo Boo,” which was already filmed, but is standing by the show’s young stars. “Supporting the health and welfare of these remarkable children is our only priority,” the network told the outlet. “TLC is faithfully committed to the children’s ongoing comfort and well being.”
