Donald Trump started a Twitter feud with Russell Brand on Thursday after he tweeted that the actor is a “loser” and Katy Perry “must have been drunk” when she married him.
The real estate mogul blasted Brand, writing, “I watched Russell Brand @rustyrockets on the @jimmyfallon show the other night—what the hell do people see in Russell—a major loser!” Actually, Brand had appeared on “The Late Show with David Letterman” this week, not “The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon.”
Regardless, Trump continued to slam Brand, tweeting, “.@katyperry must have been drunk when she married Russell Brand @rustyrockets – but he did send me a really nice letter of apology!” Trump did not explain to what letter he was referring.
Brand the shot back at Trump on Twitter, writing, “.@realDonaldTrump are you drunk when you write these tweets? Or does that foam you spray on your bald head make you high?” The comedian added, “.@realDonaldTrump I don’t think your daddy left you any witty ripostes, and everything [else] you have you inherited,” along with a link to an The Atlantic article titled, “In Financial Circles, It’s Pretty Well Known That Trump Is a Deadbeat.”
But Brand’s response didn’t stop Trump from sending more tweets to Perry, insulting her ex-husband. “@katyperry Katy, what the hell were you thinking when you married loser Russell Brand. There is a guy who has got nothing going, a waste!” wrote Trump, adding, “.@katyperry I watched Russell Brand and I think his mind is fried – he looks really bad. Russell is a total joke, a dummy who is lost!”
