Ben Affleck is willing to make some concessions while working on a movie — but he has his limits.

The actor, famously a fan of the Boston Red Sox, refused to wear a New York Yankees cap during a scene in Gone Girl.

He tells The New York Times it was basically the only fight he had on set with director David Fincher.

“And it was a legitimate fight,” says Affleck.

During a scene at an airport, Affleck’s character Nick Dunne tries to avoid being recognized by wearing a cap.

Fincher thought a Yankees cap made sense in the movie, but Affleck would not budge.

“I said, ‘David, I love you, I would do anything for you,’” Mr. Affleck tells the outlet. “‘But I will not wear a Yankees hat. I just can’t. I can’t wear it because it’s going to become a thing, David. I will never hear the end of it. I can’t do it.’ And I couldn’t put it on my head.”

He describes his insubordination as “an uprising; it was a coup, I rioted. It was a one-man riot against the Yankees.”

So what wound up happening?

They compromised on a New York Mets cap, and finished making the movie without further incident.
