ABC is looking to Peter Moffat's BAFTA-nominated drama Silk to produce its next legal drama.
The network is teaming with Moffat and Drop Dead Diva's Marty Scott to adapt the British drama, The Hollywood Reporter has learned.
Silk, which has received a script commitment from the network, is described as an explosive drama that chronicles the journey of unorthodox and uncompromising attorney Martha Costello. What she lacks in polish she makes up for in her unstoppable blue-collar determination. Martha is constantly in battle not only for her own clients, but also for her own survival at the world's top law firm, the secretive and elitist Crown & Royce.
From ABC Studios, Scott will pen the script and exec produce alongside Moffat and BBC Worldwide Productions.

Silk, created and written by Moffat, has run for three seasons, from 2011-14, on BBC One. The series, which starred Maxine Peake as Martha, earned a BAFTA nomination for best drama series as well as a Broadcasting Press Guild Award nom for Peake. Moffat won the Writers' Guild of Great Britain's award for best TV drama in 2013 for the series, which has run for 18 episodes.
For Moffat, Silk marks his latest U.S. adaptation. HBO is remaking his Criminal Justice, which was a passion project for the late James Gandolfini. He's repped by United Agents.
Scott, whose credits include Black Jack and Parent Class, is with Echo Lake Entertainment.
