The eruption of the Mount Ontake volcano in Japan has injured dozens of hikers and stranded dozens more.
One climber posted a YouTube video showing the ash cloud descending on him and others.
It’s pretty terrifying.
Reports claim at least one person has died as a result of the Mount Ontake eruption, with several still unconscious after being covered in debris.
Japanese prime minister Shinzo Abe has ordered a military rescue of the hikers who remain trapped by the eruption, saying, “In instructed to do all we can to rescue the people affected and secure the safety of the trekkers.
Mount Ontake had last erupted in 2007.
The video posted by Kuroda Terutoshi has gone viral — not surprising given the frightening footage it shows.
