It’s been a loooooonnnnng goodbye to summer.
I keep thinking of that iconic poster for “The Endless Summer” and boy, it sure does feel endless.
It’s the middle of September and we’re experiencing… no, we’re enduring, the hottest week of the year in Los Angeles. It was 107 degrees on Tuesday!!!!
I am ready to say goodbye to all my summer clothes -- the shorts, the tank tops, the dresses. I even thought I would be putting this summer’s favorite pair of Instagram-worthy sandals on hiatus by now. But no, I’ve worn them three times this week.
I am tired of this heat wave and bored with wearing the same clothes for months. Since it’s pretty warm out here year-round, we start wearing our spring and summer clothes earlier than most of the country. I’ve been wearing sandals almost every day since February -- so you can imagine my extreme fashion fatigue!
I’m beyond ready to move on -- I’m ready for fall. I’m ready to shop for a cool weather wardrobe. The upside to this heat? Stores need to move their merchandise and fall clothing is going on sale here now -- I just bought a J. Crew sweater I love on massive sale!
The downside… it won’t be cool enough to wear it until December!
