Colin Farrell will star in the second season of “True Detective,” Gossip Cop confirms.
The actor was first rumored to be in talks for the HBO series over the summer.
He replaces Matthew McConaughey and Woody Harrelson, who starred in the anthology’s acclaimed first season.
It is not yet known who will appear alongside Farrell.
Sources close to the situation declined to provide additional details, aside from confirming Farrell’s commitment.
The star, however, discussed the show in a new interview with the Sunday World, sharing, “I’m so excited.”
“I know it will be eight episodes and take around four or five months to shoot,” the actor is quoted as saying. “I know very little about it, but we’re shooting in the environs of Los Angeles which is great.”
Gossip Cop busted a rumor in March that falsely claimed Brad Pitt was being eyed for the series.
