It's almost time for the Emmys — with host Seth Meyers getting the opportunity to cement his place in the award shows history.

Before the Aug. 25 show, take a moment to look back at the highlights from the previous five ceremonies.

Jon Cryer punks Neil Patrick Harris, "Put Down the Remote" (2009)

Host Neil Patrick Harris was perhaps the most-praised part of the telecast, credited with helping the Emmys recover after the previous year's disappointing ceremony.

Jimmy Fallon, "Born to Run" (2010)

Jimmy Fallon kicked of the ceremony with a little help from Tina Fey, the cast of Glee and more as they belted out the Bruce Springsteen hit.

The comedy actresses storm the stage (2011)

These ladies pretended not to realize having their names called during nominations wasn't an invitation to come up on stage as though they had won.

Julia Louis-Dreyfus reads Amy Poehler's speech (2012)

"Isn't it a shame Amy Poehler didn't win?"

Michael Douglas makes Matt Damon uncomfortable speech (2013)

The Behind the Candalabra star used some major innuendo ("you want the bottom or the top?") in a speech you either found hilarious or really offensive.
