After winning the NBA championship five times, many fans feared Tim Duncan was going to retire, but having announced on Monday that he's returning for the 2014-15 season, the San Antonio Spurs star confirmed to David Letterman that his basketball days aren't over yet.
"I thought about it calling it a year and a career, but I felt I could still do play more, I felt like I was still effective," the 38-year-old said on the Late Show on Tuesday.

When Letterman, who announced his own retirement earlier this year, asked what his plans are when he finally hangs up his jersey for good, Duncan replied: "Pop [Spurs coach Gregg Popovich] keeps talking to me about coaching but I am not sold on that. I love cars and love playing around with them," he hinted, adding that he's used to the nonstop workload in the NBA. "The schedule is a grind, but it is something that you get used to."
Letterman rounded off the landmark interview by presenting Duncan with the NBA championship trophy, which he looked very familiar with.
Rachelle Lefevre from CBS' Under the Dome also came on the show to present a special Dome themed top 10 list, which included asking: "Can I rent the dome for a party?"

Guest Melissa McCarthy, who is currently starring in the road trip comedy, Tammy, said that traveling across country with two young children wasn't a very wise idea, "We're like carnies, we travel in a tribe," she confessed.
Over on ABC, Jimmy Kimmel had sports on his mind as he joked about the World Cup biting scandal. "The best part is [Luis] Suarez grabbing his mouth – as if to say 'Ow! His shoulder rammed into my teeth!'"

Moving onto the latest NBA news, Kimmel said: "LeBron James’ agent told the Miami Heat that LeBron will exercise the early termination option in his contract and become a free agent on July 1st. Can a guy who makes more than 20 million dollars a year really be called a 'free' agent?"
Larger than life comedian Roseanne Barr later told Kimmel that she's not fat any more, but despite her slimmed-down figure people still say "You look good!" with surprise.
