Jurassic World won't open in theaters for another year, but Today offered viewers a peek behind the scenes on Tuesday of the anticipated 2015 dinosaur disaster reboot, directed by Colin Trevorrow. Chris Pratt and Bryce Dallas Howard star in the latest film of the franchise, adapted from the Michael Crichton novel.

When director Colin Trevorrow was asked if he received any advice from Jurassic Park director Steven Spielberg on helming the reboot, he responded, "Words of wisdom, every day. He'll send ideas and he'll draw out ideas on pads of paper, and I'll shoot them."

Howard said of starring in the film, "I feel like Jurassic Park was our generation's Star Wars—it's a really big deal," adding that she and the cast and crew will find themselves humming the iconic theme while watching playback. "We'll all be singing along as we're watching some sweeping shot unfold."

Jurassic World catches up with the theme park 22 years after CEO John Hammond dreamt up the idea. "People from around the world, 20,000 visitors a day, come to see the dinosaurs and see the several attractions," said Pratt. "It's been around long enough to where attendance starts to fall off a little bit. So they've decided to come up with a new attraction to bring even more people in. You're never gonna believe it, but it doesn't go well."
