Hope Solo pleaded not guilty on Monday, stemming from her arrest on Saturday for allegedly hitting her sister and nephew during a family gathering at her sister’s home near Seattle.
The soccer star was released without bail after her court appearance and ordered to abstain from alcohol, as well as to stay stay away the alleged victims.
As Gossip Cop reported, Solo was taken into custody for investigation of two counts of domestic violence assault.
Following her arrest, a police source said Solo’s sister and nephew had “visible injuries on them.”
On Monday, her attorney said, “There’s going to be a very strong defense in this case.”
Solo is due back in court on August 11.
The U.S. women’s national team goalkeeper and Olympic gold medalist married former NFL player Jerramy Stevens immediately after he was arrested for fighting with her, although there were ultimately no charges.
She also once accused her “Dancing with the Stars” partner Maksim Chmerkovskiy of hitting her.
