BBC America’s ‘Almost Royal’: First Look at the Comedy’s Series Premiere (Exclusive Video)

BBC America is bringing British royalty to the U.S. in its first scripted comedy series.

The mockumentary-style Almost Royal follows Georgie (Ed Gamble) and Poppy Carlton (Amy Hoggart), heirs to Caunty Manor, a large country estate in Norfolk, England, where they have enjoyed privileged lives as distant descendants of the British Royal Family. They agree to have a camera crew follow them as they go on an unofficial tour of America.

The Hollywood Reporter exclusively premieres a scene from the series premiere, airing after the season-two finale of Orphan Black. In the clip, Georgie and Poppy pay a visit to a plastic surgeon and seek advice on how to "look 10 out of 10." "Mother's maybe only a seven-and-a-half," Georgie deadpans. Things get awkward when the surgeon winks at Georgie, who catches on quickly and may be slightly disturbed by it.

After some stalling, Poppy asks the real questions: celebrities and their cosmetic upgrades. Naturally, Georgie and Poppy begin to list stars they believe may have had some work done — Rick Moranis, Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson and Kate Middleton, among them. But then, Poppy drops a zinger regarding Middleton.

Almost Royal premieres Saturday at 10 p.m. on BBC America.
