The Amazing Spider-Man 2 is on its way to a dominant debut at the weekend box office.
According to early estimates, the latest superhero movie is set to earn about $90 million, far ahead of The Other Woman ($15 million).
Meanwhile, three extremely different releases — the religious Heaven Is For Real, the comic book adaptation Captain America: The Winter Soldier, and the animated Rio 2 — are each on pace for roughly $7.5 million in a tight battle for third place.
Brick Mansions, starring the late Paul Walker, is eyeing the #6 spot with about $3.5 million.
The young adult dystopian hit Divergent should grab seventh place with $2 million, slightly ahead of The Quiet Ones, God’s Not Dead and The Grand Budapest Hotel.
