‘The 100’: Kane Faces Impossible Decision Over Jaha’s Fate (Exclusive Video)

It's been a while since there was any update from the Ark following the deadly Unity Day disaster, but this week's episode of The 100 promises to answer some big questions.

Last viewers saw of the Ark, things had gotten extremely dire. Former Chancellor Diana Sydney led a mutiny to take over the first dropship, originally meant for the Ark's working class, with Clarke's mother Abby believed to be on board. After the dropship crash-landed on Earth, leaving no survivors, Clarke was led to believe her mother perished.

In a scene from Wednesday's "The Calm," which The Hollywood Reporter exclusively debuts, the dropship's premature launch leaves those left on the Ark uncertain of their own survival. Councilman Kane (Henry Ian Cusick) finally gets through to Chancellor Jaha (Isaiah Washington) through a makeshift communication system. Sadly, there aren't many survivors on the Ark it seems -- only about a dozen made it through.

With oxygen supplies diminishing by the minute and the power cutting in and out, Jaha pleads with Kane to lead his group to the mess hall, where fresh air will be flowing. "After we get you," Kane tells his superior. "No," Jaha says, explaining that a fire burned through most of their oxygen and leaving them on borrowed time. Will Kane go through with Jaha's orders to abandon him?

The 100 airs Wednesdays at 9 p.m. on The CW.
