Television Critics Awards Nominations: HBO’s ‘True Detective’ Leads

The Television Critics Association nominations have been announced.

HBO's critically-lauded True Detective tops the nominees with four, including individual achievement in drama for Matthew McConaughey, outstanding new program, outstanding achievement in movies/miniseries and specials and program of the year.

CBS' The Good Wife, AMC's departed Breaking Bad and HBO's Game of Thrones follow with three nominations apiece. All three programs are vying for the top prize, along with True Detective and Netflix's breakout Orange Is the New Black.

“These nominations are generated by the TCA membership, and choosing the best in television is not an easy task,” said TCA president Scott D. Pierce. “Not because good television is hard to find, but because there are so many deserving shows from which to choose.
