NBC is adding to its series orders, picking up lesbian-themed comedy One Big Happy and Krysten Ritter space comedy Mission Control to series.
Happy Endings alum Elisha Cuthbert stars in the multicamera comedy -- set for midseason -- from Warner Bros. Television. 2 Broke Girls' Liz Feldman penned the script and exec produces alongside Ellen DeGeneres and Jeff Kleeman. The comedy, which co-stars Nick Zano and Kelly Brook, marks the third year in a row that NBC has picked up an LGBT-themed half-hour, following the cancellations of Sean Saves the World and The New Normal.

With the pickup, the entire cast of Happy Endings have each found new series regular jobs. The cast and creators were the hottest names this past pilot season. Wilson stars in Happy Endings' creator David Caspe's NBC comedy Marry Me; Adam Pally is a regular on Fox's The Mindy Project, Damon Wayans Jr. is returning to New Girl; Eliza Coupe stars in USA Network's Benched; and Zachary Knighton co-stars in Fox's Weird Loners.
Mission Control, meanwhile, hails from Universal-based Gary Sanchez is a female-driven workplace comedy that takes place in the 1960s and is in the vein of Anchorman. Apartment 23's Ritter stars as a strong woman who butts heads with a macho astronaut (The Mindy Project's Tommy Dewey) in the race to land on the moon. It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia's David Hornsby penned the script and will exec produce the single-camera comedy alongside Gary Sanchez's Adam McKay and Will Ferrell. It marks the first broadcast scripted series orders for Gary Sanchez.

Bad Judge, meanwhile, marks the series TV return of Private Practice alum Kate Walsh. She exec produces and stars as a hard-living, sexually unapologetic woman who plays with the law and whose life is constantly in balance as she happens to be a judge in the San Bernardino criminal court system. The single-camera comedy, from Universal Television and Gary Sanchez Productions, hails from writer Chad Kultgen (The Incredible Burt Wonderstone) and is exec produced by Ferrell, McKay, Chris Henchy, Anne Heche, Jill Messik and Miguel Sandoval. This marks the second comedy from Gary Sanchez on NBC's schedule.
