After about a minute of confusion, the former onscreen mother and daughter duo began throwing out curse words one-by-one. Whoever outlasted the other would ultimately win. Roberts, 46, tried to keep the game as PG as possible, but leave it to Field, 67, to get extra raunchy for the live audience.

"Why am I in a curse-off with the flying nun? How does this happen?" Roberts joked of Field's late '60s TV series. Roberts squirmed and turned red-faced with each foul word she said aloud, as Field rested her arm on Kimmel's podium making it look easy breezy.

"A--hole," Field said, among others far worse. At one point, Kimmel was so taken aback about Field's answers that he urged Roberts to think quick. "Julia, you have two more seconds," Kimmel urged. Roberts quipped: "Oh wait, oh wait! Butt-hole!"

After a few more rounds, it seemed Roberts was drowning in what Kimmel joked to be a "massacre" for the August: Osage County star. With seconds left, she yelled: "Go f--k yourself!"
