An actor named Eric West is NOT taking over as Harrison Wright on “Scandal,” despite rumors claiming the character played by the exiting Columbus Short was being recast.
The story was spread by Deadline, which got fooled by a hoax.
Shonda Rhimes, the show’s head honcho, put the rumor to rest on Wednesday.
She tweeted, “I’ve never heard of Eric West. Harrison is not being recast EVER. How about reporters CHECK THEIR SOURCES before running with a story?”
Then she called out the site responsible for the phony report, writing, “Um, @Deadline? Handle yourself.”
So that’s that.
