The bodies discovered in the burned ruins of former tennis star James Blake’s Florida mansion belonged to the family of a man named Darrin Campbell, who shot his wife and two teenage children before setting the house ablaze and killing himself.
Authorities do not yet have a motive for the horrifying murder-suicide.
Campbell killed his wife Kimberly, 19-year-old son Colin and 15-year-old daughter Megan (see right) in the head with a handgun, then used fireworks and gas cans he’d purchased earlier in the week to burn down the rented residence before shooting himself.
The clerk who sold Campbell the fireworks say that he was acting and chatting normally at the store.
His actions have stunned the Tampa-area community and baffled investigators, who are sifting through evidence in an attempt to determine why Campbell acted.
#RIPMegan and #RIPCampbellFamily trended nationally on Twitter on Friday and Saturday as people expressed shock and sadness over the tragedy.
