“Words cannot describe how excited we are about starting our family,” Bolduan told People, which first reported the news of her pregnancy. “This has already been an incredible year for us, moving to New York and launching New Day. Now we’re beginning the best chapter yet.”

The morning show host told People that she's looking forward to having someone to wake up early with.

"I’m looking forward to having someone else in my house wake up before 3 a.m. with me," she said.

Bolduan also shared the news on Friday's New Day, apologizing to her colleagues for having to put up with the early days of her pregnancy.

"You all, without probably even knowing it, put up with some pretty gnarly morning sickness," she said.

Bolduan is the latest host to join the morning show baby boom, with Today's Savannah Guthrie and Carson Daly both announcing that they're expecting kids with their respective spouses.

CNN's New Day launched in June, with Bolduan joined by Chris Cuomo and Michaela Pereira at the anchor desk.

The show was criticized by Jon Stewart and others this past fall for its sponsored segment, in which the anchors walk to a couch while a commercial airs, but Bolduan defended the segment to THR in November.

"You want the show to get attention. Jon Stewart draws a lot of attention for various things," she said. "I love the ad, we have a lot of fun with it. If you can't have a little bit of fun with three hours of live TV from 6 to 9 in the morning, what are you doing?"
