Is Ariana Grande leaving behind her “Sam & Cat” character, Cat Valentine?
That was the rumor on Twitter Monday evening after an alleged leaked DM conversation between Grande and a follower supposedly confirmed the end of the show, leading to the trend, “#RIPCatValentine.”
Except it was completely FAKE.
Grande set the record straight in an authentic DM conversation with a fan, and confirmed that this was one the real deal — see below.

As Gossip Cop has reported, “Sam & Cat” is on a hiatus now as Nickelodeon works through a dispute with “Sam” actress Jeanette McCurdy.
Grande notes in her real exchange, “[I don't know] what’s happening with the show.”
When an official decision is made either way, Gossip Cop will have it.
