M.K. Nobilette received the first standing ovation of the “American Idol” live episodes on Wednesday’s Top 13 Night.
The contestant, who wowed last week with an emotional ballad, impressed the judges again by kicking it up a notch with “Satisfaction.”
After rising to his feet to applaud, Keith Urban told her, “First of all, I love the way you look — the whole thing [is] just really workin’.”
“What I love about ‘Idol’ is that we get to watch this growth in all of you as artists, but you particularly, already from audition city to now, the way you’re getting confidence on stage,” he went on, also noting, “Your voice never fails you.”
Harry Connick Jr. also pointed out that Nobilette looked “beautiful” wearing makeup for the first time on the show, and commended her growth, too.
“I thought it was really cool to hear your sing a song like this,” said the newest judge.
And Jennifer Lopez said, “I didn’t know that song but I loved it and I loved how you delivered it.”
“It was really smart to do a song like that and show a different side of you,” said the superstar, adding, “You. Are. Awesome.”
