‘SNL’ Stars Get Emotional in Seth Meyers Farewell Ahead of ‘Late Night’ Debut

Seth Meyers bid farewell to Saturday Night Live on Feb. 1 and to wish him luck on his Late Night endeavors, the cast made a lengthy tribute that surfaced on the web Tuesday.

SNL regulars Taran Killam, Kenan Thompson, Bobby Moynihan, Nasim Pedrad, Jay Pharoah, Vanessa Bayer, Kyle Mooney, Beck Bennett, Brooks Whelan, John Milhiser, Sasheer Zamata, Mike O'Brien and Noel Wells were heartfelt in their messages, sharing stories that ranged from Meyers guiding them through first pitches and outspoken fathers to his propensity to be incredibly nice and being "the captain of this amazing ship we all get to sail on."

"Weekend Update" scribes Pete Schultz, Katie Rich and Josh Patten even got in on the action, with Rich doling out this gem: "One thing I know for sure is I will never complain about how much work I have, or if I feel stressed or if I feel tired, because you've been awake since 1999."

Other highlights from the reel included "The Soprano Diaries," a sketch Moynihan called "one of my favorite things I have ever gotten to do on this show"; Bennett half-jokingly admitting to holding back on his "I love you" declarations on a daily basis; an emotional Thompson; and Bayer's sweet story about Meyers' last read-through wearing a T-shirt she had gifted.
