‘Buffy’s’ Michelle Trachtenberg, ‘Go On’s’ Julie White to Co-Star in CBS’ ‘Save the Date’

Buffy the Vampire Slayer alum Michelle Trachtenberg and Go On's Julie White are saving their dates for CBS.

The actresses have booked co-starring roles on the network's marriage comedy pilot Save the Date, The Hollywood Reporter has learned. Family Tree alum Tom Bennett has also boarded the comedy as a regular.

Save the Date centers on newly single 35-year-old Katie (Psych's Maggie Lawson) who drunkenly books a wedding venue and is now faced with the task of meeting the right man at the right time.

Trachtenberg will play Hillary, Katie's button-downed Rachel Maddow-type sister who gets engaged to her boyfriend, Roger (Bennett), right after Katie scares away her boyfriend with her overzealous attitude toward marriage.

Jeff and Jackie Filgo will pen the script and executive produce. Pam Fryman will direct the pilot for the hybrid comedy from CBS Television Studios/ABC Studios.

The casting continues Trachtenberg's relationship with CBS, where she has guest starred on NCIS: LA and Criminal Minds.

With the addition of Trachtenberg, CBS now employs three Buffy alums, with Sarah Michelle Gellar on The Crazy Ones and Alyson Hannigan segueing from How I Met Your Mother to pilot More Time With Family.

Trachtenberg, who most recently garnered critical acclaim for her Russian-speaking role as Marina Oswald in National Geographic's Killing Kennedy, is repped by UTA and Framework Entertainment. Her TV credits also include Gossip Girl and Mercy.

For her part, White's credits include NBC's short-lived Matthew Perry comedy Go On as well as Amazon's Alpha House and Grace Under Fire. She's repped by Paradigm and Himber Entertainment. (Perry, meanwhile, also has a pilot at the network in The Odd Couple reboot.)
