PASADENA, Calif. -- CBS has confirmed “Under the Dome” will be back for its second season in June.
CBS Entertainment President Nina Tassler revealed the summer hit will premiere on June 30 at 10 PM ET/PT.
The executive made the announcement at the Television Critics Association Winter Tour 2014 in Pasadena on Wednesday after showing some footage from the show’s second season.

Producers in the featurette shown at the event hinted at unexpected romances ahead. One clip showed Big Jim (Dean Norris) kissing Sheriff Linda (Natalie Martinez).
Producers of the show also confirmed in the clips shown to TV writers that Junior’s (Alexander Koch) uncle, who has been hiding out, will appear in Season 2, as will a young school teacher.

CBS also presented footage from their new space drama “Extant,” starring Halle Berry.
Premiering on Wednesday, July 2 at 9 PM ET/PT, the show will follow the story of a female astronaut, who returns to earth and her family after a year in space — but, in a twist, she is pregnant upon her return.
“Extant” is produced by CBS Television Studios and Steven Spielberg’s Amblin Television.
