-- Honey Boo Boo and her family – Mama June, Pumpkin, Jessica and Sugar Bear – were in car accident on Monday night, something that Mama June describes as “really scary.”
“As many of you have heard we were in a car accident last night. It was really scary for us, since it was the first time any of us had ever been in a wreck,” the 34-year-old Mama June, real name June Shannon, said in a statement to Access Hollywood.

According to Entertainment Weekly, the accident reportedly occurred when another driver struck the family’s car in an intersection. The reality TV family was taken to the hospital after the crash.
Despite their accident, the family is still determined to celebrate daughter Pumpkin’s 14th birthday.
“We are definitely really sore today, but our top priority is to celebrate Pumpkin’s birthday. She turned 14 today and no matter how sore we feel we are going to go out and celebrate,” June continued.

The TLC reality series is currently filming, but production was reportedly not involved in the incident. The new season of “Here Comes Honey Boo Boo” premieres on January 16 at 9/8 c on TLC.
