Happy Endings creator David Caspe is back in business.
The writer/executive producer's single-camera comedy Marry Me has landed a pilot order at NBC, The Hollywood Reporter has learned.

Marry Me centers on a longtime couple who get engaged -- only to quickly realize that it's harder than it looks. The single-camera entry hails from Sony Pictures Television, where Caspe is under an overall deal. He'll write and exec produce the comedy -- which landed a pilot production commitment last year -- alongside FanFare's Jamie Tarses and Seth Gordon, who will direct.
The pilot order comes six months after ABC canceled critical darling Happy Endings, with VH1 recently acquiring repeats of the cult comedy's three seasons.
Caspe has multiple projects in contention this development season, including Ball Street at Showtime and Roommates at CBS, the latter of which received a script plus penalty commitment.
At NBC, Marry Me becomes the network's second comedy pilot order (joining Kate Walsh starrer Bad Judge) and series commitments Mr. Robinson starring Craig Robinson, an untitled comedy from Tina Fey and starring Ellie Kemper as well as Working the Engels.
