Ben Affleck-Matt Damon Comedy Gets Pilot Order at CBS

CBS is getting into business with Ben Affleck and Matt Damon.

The network has ordered to pilot More Time With Family, a multicamera comedy starring comedian Tom Papa, which will be executive produced by the duo, The Hollywood Reporter has learned.

More Time With Family -- which is from 20th Century Fox Television and marks CBS' seventh comedy pilot -- centers on a husband and father (Papa) who is making a career change to spend more time with his family.

Affleck and Damon will executive produce through their Pearl Street Films, with Dave Becky and Josh Lieberman of 3 Arts also executive producing. Josh Goldsmith and Cathy Yuspa will write and serve as EPs with Papa, who previously worked with Damon on the big-screen feature The Informant! and Behind the Candelabra.

This marks the second pilot from Affleck this season, following Fox's pickup of crime drama The Middle Man. Affleck, who was poised to direct, recently pulled out due to scheduling conflicts for the Man of Steel sequel. Fox is mulling whether to find a new director or wait until Affleck's schedule permits.

For Pearl Street Films, More Time With Family joins a growing slate that includes The Middle Man and Live By Night, Affleck's next feature-directing vehicle. Other projects include historical adventure feature Race to the South Pole and Whitey, a biopic about Boston mobster Whitey Bulger, starring Damon, Affleck and Casey Affleck.

Affleck, a two-time Oscar winner, directed, produced and starred in Academy Award winner Argo and is set to star as Batman in the Man of Steel sequel. He and Damon won an Oscar in 1998 for co-writing Good Will Hunting.

Papa's casting comes after he hosted NBC's The Marriage Ref from Jerry Seinfeld from 2010 to 2011, and toplined the short-lived sitcom Come to Papa. He has since guest-starred on Inside Amy Schumer.
