MTV2 Renews ‘Charlamagne and Friends’ for Season 2 (Exclusive)

MTV2 has renewed Charlamagne and Friends for a second season.

Hosted by Guy Code and Guy Court's Charlamagne the God, the series welcomes a rotating door of artists, athletes and comedians as they give their opinions on music and pop culture stories. The new season will debut Sunday, Jan. 15 at 11:30 p.m. PST/EST.

The first season of Charlamagne and Friends aired on the cable network as a week-long preview for this year's MTV Video Music Awards in August.

Additionally, MTV2's half-hour series Ain't That America With Lil Duval, previously renewed for a sophomore run in October, will return on Jan. 15 at 11 p.m. PST/EST. The series is the network's highest-rated original series to date and averaging 800,000 total viewers for the first season.

“Is this real life? Duval and I went from doing online webisodes to having our own shows back to back on MTV2,” said Charlamagne in a statement. “God and the Whiteman really have a plan for us. I am extremely grateful for the opportunity and as always, I hope I don't make MTV2 regret it!"

“Even though we set ratings records with season one, we were just scratching the surface of our serious and detailed study of America’s funniest quirks. You can expect even more in-depth, ethnological analysis in season two. In other words, this s--- is off the motherf---ing chain," said Lil Duval in a statement.

Other programs on the male-skewing MTV2 include Nick Cannon's Wild 'N Out, Mac Miller and the Most Dope Family and Nitro Circus Live.
