Josh Gad is set to star in a Gilligan’s Island movie.
The actor, best known for “The Book of Mormon” on Broadway and TV roles including “1600 Penn,” will portray the title character, a bumbling goofball who was stranded with six other castaways on the iconic 1960s television sitcom.
He will also co-write the project.
No other casting has been announced.
“Gilligan’s Island” creator Sherwood Schwartz had another of his legendary shows, “The Brady Bunch,” turned into a tongue-in-cheek movie adaptation in the 1990s.
