Harry Styles has won a court order against the paparazzi who harass him.
The One Direction singer’s victory came in British High Court, where Styles had applied for protection after trying to convince photographers to voluntarily leave him alone.
By the terms of the injunction, the unidentified paparazzi are not allowed to chase Styles by car or motorcycle, put him under surveillance, loiter within 50 meters of his home, or take any pictures under those circumstances.
Justice Nicola Davies originally granted the order last week, and continued it on Monday until another hearing in January.
According to the pop star’s counsel, “This is not a privacy injunction. Mr. Styles is not trying to prevent fans approaching him in the street and taking photos. He remains happy to do that, as he always has.”
“Rather, it is the method or tactics which have been used by a certain type of photographer,” explained the attorney.
Hopefully the measure provides Styles with a bit more safety and peace of mind.
