Matt Smith in "Doctor Who"
BBC America has released a new trailer for the Doctor Who Christmas special, marking Matt Smith's final episode as the Doctor.
The official synopsis for the Christmas special, titled "The Time of the Doctor," is as follows: "Orbiting a quiet backwater planet, the massed forces of the universe’s deadliest species gather, drawn to a mysterious message that echoes out to the stars. And amongst them – the Doctor. Rescuing Clara from a family Christmas dinner, the Time Lord and his best friend must learn what this enigmatic signal means for his own fate and that of the universe."

The 30-second spot hypes up the gloom and doom that the Doctor faces as he readies for "one last bow."
"Eleven's hour is over now," Clara says in rhyme. "The clock is striking Twelve's."
"If you want my life, come and get it!" the Doctor shouts as a Dalek declares: "The Doctor is regenerating!"
Peter Capaldi will take over as the new Doctor.
